The Innovate Work Summit’s Panel “Attracting, Hiring and Retaining Individuals with Disabilities to Achieve a Diverse Culture” will benefit executives, HR and business leaders, multi-cultural branding and communications teams, and software developers from guest panelist Leigh Fickling’s legal and educational expertise. Fickling will share key practices about fostering a supportive environment and implementing reasonable accommodations across higher education and the modern workplace.
PRLog - Jul. 30, 2014 - RALEIGH, N.C. -- Executive Director, Leigh Fickling, J.D., M.ED., M.S., will share leading practices for fostering a supportive, inclusive environment for individuals with disabilities and implementing accommodations across a large organization with Innovate Work Summit participants at the Institute of Emerging Issues Friday, September 12, 2014.
“Maximizing people’s potential is key to success today,” said Judy White, SPHR, GPHR, HCS. “Guest panelists and expert practitioners bring invaluable real-time experience into the summit discussions, provide relevant insights and help senior leaders enhance their organizations and communities in which they live and serve.” White,is the curator for the Innovate Work Summit representing a key North Carolina network of higher education, health care, government, and industry networks and is the founder of the Infusion Group™.
As a strategic executive leader, integrated legal, educator and accomplished practitioner, Fickling has served in a variety of leadership roles including Dean of Student and Dean of Campus Life. Leigh completed her undergraduate degree at Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina. Leigh holds a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from UNC Greensboro, a Master of Science in Strategic Leadership from Mountain State University and a Juris Doctorate degree from the Charleston School of Law. Leigh’s area of expertise is disability law and implementing reasonable accommodations in the classroom and the modern workplace. Leigh and her husband are the proud parents of five-year-old twins and reside in Durham, North Carolina.
Fickling will share her experiences to address the challenges and opportunities available and to help summit participants meet section 503 requirements.
